Running to and frau.
Lola rennt (better known as Run Lola Run in the
USA)
is one of the coolest movies ever. I've watched
it multiple times and introduced it to a bunch of friends. The
basic plot deals with the idea that one can repeat a moment in life
until they get it right. Redheaded heroine, Lola (Franka Potente), is put in an
awkward position by her boyfriend, Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu), and must run and run and
run to save him. When she doesn't succeed, she tries again and
again and... you get the idea.
The frenetic pace and accompanying techno soundtrack makes for a
fantastic 92-minute ride. The budget is clearly small, but
director Tom Tykwer implements creative ideas to further the story while
keeping costs low. For example, Polaroids are used to great effect to
tell the story of some character's entire lives in mere seconds.
It's the little niceties and quirks that sets Lola rennt apart
from the usual fare.
You must experience this film.

don't watch it that way, it's
just not the same.
